Red Storm rides to seventh win.

The Fountain Valley Red Storm turned to its defense to gain its

seventh victory of the season, and the result was a 37-15 win over Ocean

View in boys Division 2 National Junior Basketball weekend action.

Samer Haddad came up with five steals and Dustin Aoyagi and Shane Webber

each added four more as the Red Storm improved their first place mark to

7-0.

Aoyagi also led the way with nine points, Haddad and Stuart Schultz each

scored eight, and Webber led the Red Storm in rebounding with five.

In other Division 2 games:

S.C. Lakers 31, FV Lakers 25

Jim Flanagan scored 11 points to go along with seven rebounds and two

blocked shots, Tyler Grigsby scored seven points, Taylor Gross had a team

high eight rebounds, and Russell Funk and Logan Martina each pulled in

six boards to pace the S.C. Lakers, now 6-1.

DIVISION 1

Magic 40, Hornets 27

Nguyen Dau led all scorers with 17 points, , Ricky Hagen had seven

rebounds and six points, Ryan Pham added five points, and Kevin Kim

contributed four points for the first-place Magic (7-0).

Grizzlies 49, Heat 39

Kevin Ferraro netted 20 points, Michael Entin scored 10 points, and

Robert Hansen had seven assists for the Grizzlies (4-3); Viet Nguyen

handed out five assists and scored 12 points and Matthew Derocili was a

defensive force with 11 rebounds, for the Heat.

DIVISION 3

Spurs 46, H.B. Raptors 22

Matt James scored a triple double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10

assists, Travis Musacchio scored 18 points, Kevin Juneja scored 10

points, and Jeffrey Prugpichailers had seven steals for the Spurs.

Sonics 35, Ocean View 10

Jon Perez scored 14 points and had nine rebounds, Colin Carroll scored

nine points, Ian Dunbrow played excellent defense, Bobby Hosseiny had

three rebounds, five steals, and four assists, Jason Ma added four

rebounds and four steals as the Sonics routed the Raptors to remain

unbeaten (7-0) in division play.

Hornets 29, Westminster 23

The defense of Dylon Gearin, Ryan McNeil, Kevin Kuwahara, Matt Empting,

and Armstrong Gearin held the Celtics scoreless in the final period as

the Hornets pulled out the victory. Empting scored seven points and Shane

Armstrong added six to lead all scorers.

Bulls 64, Westminster 18

Tyler Freleaux poured in 15 points and pulled down 21 rebounds, Buster

Gallegos scored 18 points and had eight rebounds, Russell Westphal scored

eight points to go along with nine assists, and Freddie Pepper led all

scorers with 19 points for the victorious Bulls.
