Locals prepare for national tennis tournament
NEWPORT BEACH - Sixteen of the top national high school boys tennis
teams will compete in the CDMHS-Pavilions National High School Tennis
All-American Team Invitational.
The tournament will take place in various clubs throughout the area,
including the Palisades Tennis Club, Newport Beach Tennis Club, Balboa
Bay Club Racquet Club, Park Newport and the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.
Opening ceremonies are March 16 at the Palisades Tennis Club. Teams
representing Florida, Virginia, Arizona, New York, Oregon, Nevada,
Colorado and California are confirmed to compete.
The National Girls’ High School Tennis Championships will be Oct. 6-8.
Corona del Mar High boys tennis coach Tim Mang is the executive
director of the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation,
which is a nonprofit organization promoting this tournament.
Proceeds from the tournaments go toward recognizing high school tennis
All-Americans throughout the United States.
