Women’s basketball: Lions win GSAC opener
AZUSA - Kelly Boeke scored 15 points to lead a balanced Vanguard
University attack to a 63-52 win over host Azusa Pacific in the Golden
State Conference opener for both schools.
Marisa Emde and Laura Lee each added 14 points for the Lions (12-2,
1-0 in GSAC), while Becky Huddle chipped in with 10.
The Lions overcame a six-point deficit after the first half and
outscored the Cougars, 43-28, in the second half.
Next up, the Lions look to make it 44 in a row at home against
California Baptist Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
