Costa Mesa attorney elected to county bar association

A Balboa Island resident has been elected secretary of the Orange County
Bar Assn., a term that requires a four-year commitment.
Robert Gerard, a partner with a Costa Mesa law firm, also will serve in
the other three executive positions with the association -- treasurer,
president-elect and president -- in the three following years,
respectively.
“I congratulate Robert on winning his election as secretary of the bar
association and look forward to working with him as a member of the
executive committee in the years ahead,” said Donald Gray, the
association’s president. “His election to secretary is a testament to his
many years of dedicated and outstanding service to the legal profession.”
Gerard graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he
served as an editor of the San Diego Law Review. His expertise is mainly
in labor and employment litigation, representing clients who claim
wrongful termination, sexual harassment and discrimination.
He also serves on the board of directors of the Orange County Marine
Institute and the bar association’s judiciary committee.
“We’re extremely pleased that one of our colleagues was elected to this
position by other lawyers in the community,” said Henry Stiepel, managing
partner of the firm where Gerard works. “He has spent more than 10 years
deeply involved with the bar association and brings experience and
dedication to the position.”
