Football: OCC players honored by Mission Conference

COSTA MESA - Eleven Orange Coast College football players were
named to the first and second All-Mission Conference teams Tuesday
following the Pirates 1999 campaign.
OCC’s first-team honorees on offense were sophomore quarterback Jared
Flint, and sophomore wide receivers Raymond Ohrel and David Castleton.
Flint threw for 2,454 yards with 16 touchdowns for the Pirates, who
finished the season 4-6, 2-3 in the Mission Conference’s Northern
Division.
Ohrel led the conference with 62 receptions, while Castleton’s 958 yards
placed him second in the conference.
Sophomore defensive back Bobby Johnson, along with sophomore kickoff
returner James Dawkins, were selected from the Pirates to All-Mission
Conference’s first team defensive team.
Johnson led the Pirates in tackles and had two interceptions, while
Dawkins averaged nearly 30 yards per return, including a 92-yard
touchdown return against Riverside.
Sophomore running back Jimmie Banks (663 yards, six TDs), along with
freshman offensive guard Anthony Knutson and tackle Yannick Boka were
named to the All-Mission Conference second team.
