OCC women’s water polo players honored
Orange Coast College sophomore Narrissa Reidenbaugh, who helped the
Pirates’ women’s water polo team to the semifinals of the Southern
California regional playoffs, tops a host of OCC players receiving
postseason individual honors.
Reidenbaugh, who led Coach Mike Giles’ team in goals (53) and assists
(32) and was second in steals (47), was named All-American, All-SoCal and
Orange Empire Conference Co-Most Valuable Player. The Dana Hills High
product was conference MVP and All-American as a freshman as well.
OCC sophomore Jen Stipp was also an automatic All-American, securing
second-team All-SoCal laurels. She produced 43 goals, 44 steals and 17
assists for the Pirates (21-7), who were ranked as high as No. 2 in
California. Stipp was also first-team all-conference.
Erin Kennedy, a freshman goalie out of Newport Harbor High, was
second-team All-SoCal and first-team all-conference. She finished with
164 saves and 43 steals.
Jessica Hylton earned honorable mention in the All-SoCal picks, after
collecting first-team All-OEC laurels. The freshman out of University
High had 49 goals and 15 assists.
Laura Blair, a sophomore out of Corona del Mar High, was a first-team
all-conference pick after collecting 40 steals, 21 goals and 17 assists
for the conference champions.
Freshmen Katie Logan, Jennifer Hallman, Heather Lemke, Janna Larson and
Kathy Clarich represented OCC on the all-conference second team, while
freshman Heather Pappas, out of Newport Harbor High, earned honorable
mention.
Lisa Wiesse from Riverside City College, shared OEC MVP honors with
Reidenbaugh.
