MILLENNIUM MOMENT

The largest and most comprehensive history of Newport Beach’s growth,

“Newport Beach, The First Century, 1888-1988” was edited by James P.

Felton, longtime journalist and businessman.

Felton worked for newspapers in San Diego, Seattle, Oxnard, Los Angeles

and Newport Beach. He was city editor of the Los Angeles Daily News and

an editor for Time magazine. Felton also worked as a vice president for

Newport-based Avco Financial services. He has held positions on the

Newport Center Assn., the Friends of Oasis and many other local boards.

MILLENNIUM MOMENT celebrates the people who have made a major

contribution to the Newport-Mesa community during this century.
