AYSO Region 57: Blue Bombers reach finals

NEWPORT BEACH - The Blue Bombers have advanced to the AYSO Region

57 Boys Division 5 championships following victories over the Mystic

Hawks, 5-0 and the Green Fluffy Bunnies, 1-0, in a shootout.

In the win over the Hawks, Mitchell Williams scored three goals, while

Parker Rhodes and Reed Williams scored the final two goals for the

Bombers.

Camden Higginson, Brandt Lange and Peter Yould rounded out the

offense, while Evan Lividas, Russell Goldberg, Bret Weinberger and David

Schwartz provided solid defense.

In the shootout win over the Bunnies, goalies Reed Williams and Nick

Freeman stopped numerous shots, while David Schwartz and Andrew Halladay.

In Girls Division 4 action:

Cherry Bombs 5, Y2K Girls 1 - Alycia and Alexa McCarthy each scored

two goals, while Marisa Scott added the fifth goal for the Cherry Bombs.

Solid Bombs defense was turned in my Amanda Shaw, Madison Kawakami,

Leilani Livingston, and Sonya Wadha.

Poison Ivy 1, Millennium Babes 1 - Cassidy Grandstaff scored the lone

goal for Poison Ivy.

Leading the Babes was the play of Kristen Chapman, Rachel Heyler,

Blair Tarnutzer, K.T. Molinaro, Brittany Welch, Kessa Palchikoff,

Jennifer Entin, Maggie Donnelly, Emily McAdams, Sonia Bui and Allison

Bond.

Bruisers 2, Poison Ivy 2 - Casey McMakin and Emily Foster scored for

the Bruisers, while Cassidy Grandstaff and Olva Zamucen scored for the

Poison Ivy.

Leading the Bruiser defense was Kelly Bartlett, Katherine Ossipoff,

Amanda Billlin, Paige Harryman and Allyson Page, while Katherine Doud,

Kaitlin Fischer and Sara Sweeney led the way for Poison Ivy.
