The Wolfpack White soccer team (Fountain Valley/Huntington Beach)
wrapped up the Coast Soccer U-19 Premier League title last weekend by
defeating the Arsenal FC, 2-0.
It is the third consecutive league championship won by the team, which
will enter the Coast Soccer League Cup Tournament this weekend.
Danny Collins scored the winning goal in the 14th minute by heading in
Mario Picarelli’s throw in past the Arsenal goalkeeper.
Matt Upton added an insurance goal in the 35th minute off a pass from Ian
Buchannon.
The U-10 Premier League featured 12 teams from Ventura to San Diego.
During their march to the league crown, Glenn Strachan coached Wolfpack
to wins in their final nine matches for an overall record of 9-1-1.
Led by goalkeeper Joey Balbas, Buchannon, A.J. Hernandez, Jeff Kunze,
Nick Schwab, and Mike Spar, Wolfpack led the league in defense by
allowing just seven goals. Strikers Collins, Blake Hardin, Cliff
McKinley, and Patrick Parker, and midfielders Picarelli, John Clark, Josh
Finestone, Eddie Gonzalez-Pinto, Devin Kato, Drew McAthy, Matt Upton, and
Chris Wimmer, the offensive unit combined to score a league-best 33
goals.

WOLFPACK U-10 GIRLS WIN PAIR
The Wolfpack girls Under-10 soccer team posted two key weekend victories
to move into second place in the league standings.
On Saturday, Wolfpack rolled past the South Bay Force, 5-1. Crystal Mena
led the scoring with three goals and Justine Freud added two more, thanks
to strong midfield play by Alesha Young and Alex McIntosh.
Wolfpack came back Sunday with to win a defensive struggle with the So
Cal Blues, as s goal in the last minute of the game gave Wolfpack a 1-0
victory.
Goalie Kristina Dague and defenders Megan Munce, Carly Ruiz, Emily
Ohlhaver, and Allie Duernberger helped lead the shutout.
