The Huntington Beach Mitey Mite Gold Chargers continued their
late-season run Saturday by rallying to pull out a 20-14 victory over the
host La Habra White Lions in Pop Warner Football action.
The Gold Chargers, who won four of their final five games to end the
season, scored first on Eric Perez’s 45-yard end reverse, and the 6-0
lead stood at the half.
After La Habra came back to score on their first two second half
possessions to grab a 14-13 lead, the Gold Chargers began their final
possession of the game with four minutes remaining, then punched in the
winning touchdown with 30 seconds to play.
Perez, Jack Garabrant, Garrett Heckel, Joey Desmond, Nick Hirsch, Sean
Simpson, Drake Dominguez, and Tommy Barbish led the Gold Chargers
throughout the season.

Green Chargers 20, Monterey Park 0
Bryan Kobylka scored on a 60-yard punt return and both Scott Martin and
Anthony Buckley caught touchdown passes as the Mitey Mite Green Chargers
beat the host Aztecs. The Green Charger defense held the Aztecs to less
than 30 yards of rushing, with Joe Green recovering a fumble.

Lakewood 20, Green Chargers 14
The Lancers jumped out to a 20-0 third quarter lead at Edison High, then
held on for the win in Saturday’s regular season finale. Josh Herrera
scored on a 70-yard run and Eugene Starikov scored on a 60-yard run and
added a two-point conversion kick for the Green Chargers behind the
blocking of Lawrence Lujan, Jake DiNolfi, Drake Peach, Christopher Maki,
Robert Raad, Marcus Breit, and Shawn Higgenbotham.
The Green Chargers will travel to San Diego on Dec. 4 to play their bowl
game.
