OCC falls to No. 1 Ventura

CHAFFEY - Ventura College, the No. 1-ranked community college

women’s basketball team in the state, handled defending champion Orange

Coast, 75-59, in the championship game of the Chaffey Tournament Sunday

at Chaffey College.

Sarah Middlebrooke had 18 points and Erin Tomlinson 14 for the Pirates

(2-1), who trailed by 12 at halftime and couldn’t get any closer.

Ventura improved to 3-0.
