Girls tennis: NH blanks Arroyo Grande
ARROYO GRANDE - Newport Harbor High girls tennis team continued to
dominate the pack, this time blanking Arroyo Grande High, 18-0, in the
second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs.
Kristen Case won all 18 games played in her three-set win, while Sarah
Barker, playing in her first singles competition of the season, swept her
three sets, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 for the Sailors (17-1).
On the doubles side, the team of Jenny Meyer and Amanda Collopy won,
6-2, 6-2, 6-1, to lead the Sailors, who advance to the CIF quarterfinals
Tuesday with a site and opponent to be determined.
