Thomson feels like six million

Vice Mayor Tom Thomson is back and rarin’ to go at the City Council

meetings. He injured his knee a couple of weeks ago and had to briefly

excuse himself. But, after getting orthoscopic surgery, Thomson is as

feeling as strong as a $6-million man.

Alarming news

In other council news, Newport Beach Mayor Dennis O’Neil is having

trouble with his new, high-tech home-alarm system. After his wife tripped

the complex system, it went off and the police came rushing to their

home. While it was a great sample of the city’s efficient services, which

O’Neil has helped to ensure, he had to pay a false alarm fee of $100.

Double take

George Carpenter had a rough time on Friday.

He was attacked by two men on Bay Island as they attempted to burglarize

the home on which Carpenter was working.

When police took his report, they might have thought they were seeing

double.

If you were wondering what Carpenter does for a living, look no further

than his last name.

He’s a carpenter.
