The NHB Boys Under-10 boys soccer team bounced back from its first

loss of the season by scoring a pair of victories last weekend.

On Saturday, NHB defeated Canyon Classic, 6-2, then came back on Sunday

to belt West Coast White, 9-2, in Mission Viejo, with Christian Ramirez

turning in strong performances in the weekend victories.

Against Canyon Classic, Ramirez fed Esteban Orejel, whose header found

the net and brought NHB into a 1-1 tie. The two then switched spots late

in the half, with Orejel assisting Ramirez’s first goal for a 2-1 Black

halftime lead.

In the second half, Ramirez was a one-man scoring machine with two

unassisted goals and a fourth goal coming off an Abraham Villon assist.

Bobby Tornel added a rebound goal to close the match’s scoring.

In beating West Cost White, Villon scored on an Orejel feed, and Orejel

added a second score with two minutes left in the first half to give NHB

a 2-1 cushion at the break. In the second half, the NHB defense continued

to contain West Coast while Favian Robiatti’s shot from just outside the

penalty area at the 8:25 mark of the half boosted NHB into a 3-1 lead.

In the game’s final eight minutes, the defensive struggle turned into an

offensive frenzy as both teams combined to score seven goals.

Both Ramirez and Villon scored two goals to go along with an assist to

lead NHB.

By bouncing back from a 4-1 defeat to San Clemente United, NHB increased

its league-leading Silver South Division to 11-1 in the Coast Soccer

League standings. NHB plays the first of its two final league games

Saturday, hosting the Galaxy Alliance of Torrance at Estancia High in

Costa Mesa. They can wrap up the division title on Nov. 20 with a victory

over second-place So Cal United of Westlake.
