Fountain Valley Little League will hold signups for its 2000 season
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-14, at Mile Square Park. Saturday’s session
will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sunday’s will run from noon-3 p.m.
Boys and girls ages 5-16 are eligible, and players must be five years of
age by July 31, 2000. Prospective players are required to bring a birth
certificate and utility bill to verify age and residency.
Fountain Valley Little League boundaries include the entire city of
Fountain Valley, the part of Westminster that runs south of Westminster
Blvd, east of Magnolia, and west of Brookhurst.

Irvine Novaquatics swim coach David Salo announced recently that 1999 CIF
champion Kyoko Yokouchi of Marina High has accepted a letter of intent to
the University of California, Berkeley. Yokouchi will attend Cal next
fall and will compete for Teri McKeever’s Golden Bears team, which
currently is ranked fifth in the nation.
Yokouchi is a backstroke and individual medley specialist at Marina.
