OCC advances to state championships
MENIFEE - Jennifer Tunzi led OCC to a second-place finish in the
women’s community college golf finals that catapulted the Pirates into
the state championships.
Tunzi shot a 75 in the second day of competition to put her in a
three-way tie for second place with a total score of 155.
Robin Shaft and Jenna Quaranta both shot an 88 for the Pirates. Shaft’s
total of 168 was second-best on the team.
OCC shot 671 as a team and held off Long Beach by five strokes for the
right to represent the South in the championships. Mt. San Antonio won
the competition with a 644.
The match was held at Menifee Lakes, par 72.
