RE-MEMBERING GROUP

Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish Center hosts a talk for Catholics who

feel spiritually homeless at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. This Sunday’s meeting will

feature the talk “Past and Future.” The Parish Center is at 2046 Mar

KENYAN BISHOP AT SAINT JAMES

Bishop Joseph Wasonga of the diocese of Maseno West, Kenya, will speak at

Saint James Episcopal Church on Sunday for all services. Wasonga is the

son of a Kenyan freedom fighter and is chairman of the Kenya Council of

Churches. Services are at 7:30, 9 and 10:45 a.m. as well as at 6:30 p.m.

BEREAVEMENT AND CONSOLATION

St. Joachim Catholic Church’s Consolation Ministry holds a Bereavement

and Consolation Workshop at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Representatives from Bell

Broadway Mortuary of Costa Mesa and health care professionals will speak,

and there will be a presentation on the Eucharist and Liturgy for

funerals. St. Joachim Church is at 1964 Orange Ave., Costa Mesa. For more

NEW THOUGHT WORKSHOPS

New Thought Community Church’s Science of Mind Training Center hosts

weekly workshops for the community. The talks run from 10 a.m. to noon at

DEAD SEA SCROLLS LECTURE

Temple Isaiah of Newport Beach will host Michael B. Phelps, director of

the Ancient Biblical Manuscript Center in Claremont, who will give a talk

about the Dead Sea Scrolls at 8 p.m. Nov. 17. A $5 donation is requested

for members, $10 for non-members. The temple is at 2401 Irvine Ave.,

WEEKLY EVENTS

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church hosts a fellowship breakfast from 7 to 8

a.m. Wednesdays. All men of the church and the community are invited to

the event. Cost is $2.50. The Rev. Jim Birchfield, minister of young

adults, will speak on “The Parable of the Paint -- and other stories from

Egypt” at this Wednesday’s meeting. The church is at 600 St. Andrew’s
