Four Tars advance

COTO DE CAZA - Four Newport Harbor High girls golfers survived the

cut Tuesday to advance to today’s second round of the Sea View League

individual tournament at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club.

Kelly Hunt, who finished third in league last season as a freshman, shot

88 over 18 holes (par 72) to finish fourth after the opening day.

Irvine’s Sunny Lee leads with a 1-under 71.

Newport’s Shelly Roberts (sixth place with a 92), Lindsay Galbraith (tied

for ninth, 98) and Emily McKay (tied for 10th, 99) also were among the 12

players who moved on.

The league’s top five will advance the CIF individual finals, scheduled

Nov. 17 at Mission Lakes in Desert Hot Springs.
