Tennis: Locals fare well in CM tennis tournament

COSTA MESA - Youngsters of all ages reached various boys and girls

division finals in the 12th annual Costa Mesa Jr. Satellite Tennis

Tournament at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center, whit two coming up

victorious.

In the boys 10-and-under finals, Ryan Caughren of Newport Beach

defeated Torrance’s Keith Boggero, 6-4, 6-4, while in the 12-and-under

finals, Newport Beach’s Dylan Espley-Jones knocked off Taylor Katzman of

Santa Ana, 6-0, 6-0.

The other local youngster to reach a finals match, Charlie Corum of

Costa Mesa lost to Sinh Cao of Fountain Valley, 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 in the boys

8-and-under finals.

On the girls side, Costa Mesa’s Nelly Radeva defeated Natalie Duckor

of Tustin, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in the 10-and-under division.

Hilary Havens of Newport Beach slipped by Ariana Fahray of Santa Ana

in the 14-and-under division, 6-4, 6-0, and Krista McIntosh of Costa Mesa

had little trouble in the 18-and-under finals matchup with Newport

Beach’s Liz Anderson, winning, 6-0, 6-0.
