AYSO Region 97: Raging Thunder chop the Headhunters
COSTA MESA - Goals by Travis Mayfield, Nathan Cramer and Chad
Stassel and assists from Kyle Rohan and Tim Cramer led the Raging Thunder
to a 5-1 win over the Headhunters Saturday in AYSO Region 97 Division 4
boys action.
Goalies Nick Weil, Brett Greene and Chad Stassel made numerous saves for
the Raging Thunder.
Solid midfield play was turned in by Jason Walker and Kalani Simon, while
on defense, Corbin Williamson, Jonathon Gordon and Kevin Eredia kept the
Headhunters at bay.
In other Division 4 boys action:
Hot Shots 2, Bullets 2 - Brian Wong scored both goals to lead the Hot
Shots, while Tyler Parker and Luke Sequeira each scored a goal for the
Bullets, with Jonathan Mena assisting.
For the Bullets, goalie Jason Segura played solid in goal, while Andrew
Marchi, Dillon Giedt, Chasen Murphy, Ryan Ramming, Justin Whisler, Kyle
Williams, Kevin Etter, Brian Cunningham andBradley Branch each played
quality all-around games.
In Division 5 boys action:
Tsunamis 4, Chargers 0 - Ceasar Amador had two goals, while Kyle Caldwell
and Erik Bonn each scored one to lead the Tsunamis.
Assists came from Hayden Navarro, R.J. D’Cruz, Danny Miller and Mitchell
Bancroft.
Leading the defense in the shutout were Cameron Holmes, Cameron Chase,
Rex Nelson, Micheal Bingham and Steven Reader.
Tidal Waves 3, Blue Vipers 2 - Wes Parks had both of the Blue Vipers’
goals off assists from Peter Hapke.
Henry Pyle and Darren Leggett each made two saves in goal for the Blue
Vipers, while solid team support came from Drew Wittenberg, Jason
Wittman, Blake Chiapuzzo, Santiago Castaneda, Timothy Regan, Mark
Espinoza, Humberto Lozano, Max Royer.
In Division 3 girls action:
Black Magic 1, Blaze 0 - Allyson Jennings scored the game’s lone goal for
the Black Magic with offensive help from Lauren Curtis, Amanda
Hoffenberg, Casey Ibbetson, Kristin Jundursina, Kimmy Miller, Robin
Senour and Ally Stoltz.
Preserving the shutout for the Black Magic was goalie Kara DeMille, who
made numerous saves and defenders Kelly Boler, Victoria Swigart and
Kimberly Hanley.
In Division 5 girls action:
Radical Rocking Raspberries 3, Silver Bullets 2 - Leslie Boler had two
goals, including the game-winner for the Raspberries.
Madison McMains scored the Raspberries other goal, with solid offensive
support from Ann Darnell, Angela Graham, Katrina Johnson and Abby
Schneidewind.
On defense, Chlow Addigton-Assefi, Natalie Cedeno, Kayla Henrie, Clea
O’Kieffe, Ashley Spaulding and Stephanie Stone led the way.
In Division 6 and 7 girls action:
For the Blueberry Kicks in their game against the Planet Pink, Tatum
Norton and Paige Hall each scored goals with solid play turned in by
Acacia Moore, Madison Ridgeway, Erin Hinkleman, Kasey Thompson, Priscilla
Moreira and Catherine Connelly ... For the Teenie Wahines in their
matchup with the Dolphins, Hannah MacLeod and Jordan Murrel had goals,
Jessica Swift and Skylar Hanson had assists, goalies Lindsay Anderson and
Sayde Busby made numerous stops and solid all-around play was turned in
by Blakely Ficenec, Cassie D’Cruz, Ashley Svendsen and Lauren Pfifer.
