COSTA MESA -- Houses aren’t the only thing ABILITY Magazine is

constructing.

The Costa Mesa-based magazine is collaborating with CareerMosaic, a

leading employment site on the Web, to create JobAccess -- the first

large-scale Internet site dedicated to the employment of people with

disabilities.

Chet Cooper, publisher of ABILITY Magazine, said although there are

companies that are actively recruiting people with disabilities, there

hasn’t been a central location for them to look.

At JobAccess, employers will be able to browse for qualified job

candidates and enter detailed search criteria to find applicants with

specific skills. Companies also can post job descriptions and contact

information and also search the online resume bank.

“No other career site has properly addressed the issue of hiring people

with disabilities,” said Bernard S. Hodes, president of CareerMosaic.

“This alliance not only is a natural part of our strategy to connect

employees with qualified applicants, it is the right thing to do.”

The Web site is at o7 www.jobaccess.orgf7 .
