COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College clinched the No. 1 seed in next

weekend’s Orange Empire Conference women’s water polo tournament by

shutting out visiting Riverside Thursday, 6-0.

Ranked fifth in the state, Coast scored single goals in the first

three quarters before breaking it open in the final period with three

goals.

Pirate goalie Erin Kennedy had seven saves. Katie Logan scored twice

in the first half, and teammate Jen Stipp had two goals, as well.
