CdM clinch PCL title
CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High’s girls tennis team captured
its first Pacific Coast League title with a 10-8 win over visiting
University.
The Sea Kings (11-5, 9-0) remain undefeated in its first year in the PCL,
but it had a close match to clinch the title. Uni’s singles team, led by
Aimee Kim’s sweep, outscored CdM 5-4.
But the doubles team of Anne Yelsey and Nicole Charney won all three
sets, and the team of Ashley Jacobson and Katie Tenerelli swept their
three sets to clinch the match for CdM.

Corona del MAr 10, University 8 Singles: Vaughan (CdM) lost to Ai. Kim, 6-7; def. Langer, 6-3; def. Djen,
6-0; Damion (CdM) lost, 0-6; won 6-0, 6-1; Claster (CdM) lost, 1-6, 2-6,
2-6.
Doubles: Yelsey-Charney (CdM) def. An. Kim-An. Aswad, 6-2; def. Al.
Aswad-Ngo, 6-1; def. Tam-Ho, 6-1; Jacobson-Tenerelli (CdM) won, 6-1, 6-4,
6-2; Bryan-Wong (CdM) lost, 1-6, 0-6, 5-7.
