AYSO Region 97: Tsunamis blank Shock Waves

NEWPORT BEACH - Cameron Chase and Kyle Caldwell each scored goals

to lead the Tsunamis over the Shock Waves, 2-0, in AYSO Region 97

Division 5 boys soccer action.

Assists for the Tsunamis’ goals came from Cesar Amador and Hayden

Navarro.

Goalies Danny Miller and Chase each help preserve the shutout for the

Tsunamis.

On defense, Steven Reader, Cameron Holmes, Rex Nelson and R.J. D’Cruz

each played hard, while Erik Bonn, Mitchell Bancroft and Eric Holland

played a solid all-around game.

In other Region 97 action:

Division 4 boys:

Raging Thunder 2, Wave Runners 2 - Nathan Cramer scored both of the

Raging Thunder’s goals, with assists coming from Kyle Rohan and Chad

Stassel.

For the Wave Runners, Jack Tracy and Flavio Cuevas scored their goals,

while goalies Matthew Helfrich and B.J. Mowler kept the game in check.

In goal for the Thunder, Brett Green and Nick Weil, kept the game close

with numerous saves.

Also on defense, Christian Barnett, Corbin Williamson and Kevin

Eredia, Travis Mayield, Kalani Simon and Tim Cramer each played well.

Blue Vipers 2, Haunters 2 - Marcos Castaneda and Henry Pyle each

scored for the Blue Vipers, with other offensive support coming from

Timothy Regan, Wes Parks, Drew Wittenberg and Peter Hapke.

Playing solid defense for the Blue Vipers were Darrenn Leggett,

Humberto Lozano, Mark Espinoza, Santiago Castaneda, Jason Wittman and

Blake Chiapuzzo.

Division 3 girls:

Intergalactic 2, Blue Angels 1 - Dana Owad scored two goals to lead

the Intergalactic to victory.

Ashley Harrison lead the Intergalactic on defense, with solid support

coming from Holland Osadche, Elisa Del Valle and Courtney Hanson.

Division 5 girls:

Raspberries 1, Rockets 0 - Leslie Boler scored the game’s only goal to

lead the Raspberries.

Taking several shots on goal for the Raspberries were Angela Graham,

Ann Darnell, Kayla Henrie and Katrina Johnson.

On defense, Clea O’ Kieffe, Chloe Addington-Assefi, Natalie Cedeno,

Madison McMains, Ashley Spaulding and goalies Stephanie Stone and Lesile

Boler led the Raspberries’ charge.

Division 6 girls:

Lindsay Anderson scored a goal with an assist from Cassie D’Cruz for

the Teenie Wahines in their match on Saturday.

Hannah MacLeod and Jordan Murrel also scored goals for the Teenie

Wahines with assists coming from Skylar Hanson and Sayde Busby.

On defense, Ashley Svendsen, Jessica Swift and Blakely Ficenec lead

the troops.
