Sailors roll
NEWPORT BEACH - Newport Harbor High’s girls tennis team pushed
aside visiting Laguna Hills in Sea View League play Thursday, netting a
13-5 decision as the Sailors tuned up for their return match with
Woodbridge on Tuesday.
The Sailors, now 13-1 overall, 7-0 in league, were paced by the sweeps
of singles standouts Audra Adams and Chelsea Godbey, as well as a sweep
in doubles by Jenny Meyer and Kristen Case.
Woodbridge appears to the only potential roadblock to a Newport Harbor
sweep of league play. In the first round at Harbor, the Sailors, ranked
No. 2 in CIF Division I circles, were 12-6 winners to hand Woodbridge its
only loss in league play.
