Green Chargers beat Bell Gardens, 24-13
The Huntington Beach Jr. Pee Wee Division Green Chargers used a
complete team effort Saturday to score a 24-13 victory over the visiting
Bell Gardens Lancers in Pop Warner Football action at Edison High.
Both Josh Herrera and Eugene Starikov each rushed for two
touchdowns - one in each half - and the Green Charger defense came up
with a pair of second half fumble recoveries as Huntington Beach overcame
a 13-12 halftime deficit.
Herrera’s second touchdown of the game gave the Green Chargers the
lead for good, Eugene Starikov tacked on another rushing touchdown for an
11-point edge, and both Sean Corcoran and Adam Halstead came up with
fumble recoveries to thwart the Lancers.
Leading the way on offense for the Green Chargers were Les Obie,
Adam Miranda, and Nick Josenhans.
Defensive leaders for Huntington Beach included Jake Slaton,
