AYSO Region 120: Team USA edged

COSTA MESA - Andrew West scored a third-quarter for Team USA in

their 3-1 loss to Mesa United in AYSO Region 120 Under-12 boys action

Saturday.

West’s goal tied the game for Team USA and after pushing the players

forward in an attempt to break the tie, Mesa United managed to streak out

and score.

Key Team USA players for the game were Cody Waldron, William Briseno,

Jonathan Howse, Nick Ippolito, Eric West, Kyle Worel, and Taylor

McClanahan.

In Under-10 girls action: Dynamite 3, Firecrackers 2 - Jennifer Whitaker and Ashley Silleto each

scored first-half goals for the Firecrackers, before the Dynamite rallied

for the win.

Other key players for the Firecrackers include Jane Messersmith,

Brennan McVeigh and Ariell Benter.

Oreo’s 1, WildCats 0 - For the WildCats, Karissa Stone and Lauren King

had a combined five saves, while Kristina Roche was the leader on

defense.

Solid offensive play was turned in by Andrea Oyos and Lauren

Nordstrom.

In Under-10 boys action:

Royals 1, Orange Comets 0 - Zach Grant scored his first goal of the

season to lead the Royals to victory.

Both teams were evenly matched, both offensively and defensively.

Red Bombers 0, Revolution 0 - Goalies Trevor McGuff and Anthony

Arellano each led the Bombers defense with goal-stopping blocks, with

Josh Gonzalez, Dontay Lesser, Gregory Vinson and Luis Labrado adding to

the defensive help in the first half.

Renny Martinez, Mathew Hillberg and Nicholas Vinson led the defensive

charge in the second-half, with Adam Seagondollar, Francisco Moreno and

Peter Schreyer led the offense for the Bombers.

In Under-8 boys action:

In the Rockets game against the Sharks, Matt Viles and Angel Beas led

the offense, while Justin Crosson, Aaron Kring, Preston Schow and goalie

Ben Nordstrom led the defense ... For the Fireballs, in their game

against the Purple Pythons, Brandon Karr stopped a penalty kick, Kevin

Kiser, Alex Stradwick and Derek Lecot led the offense, and Jack King

played solid on defense.
