Girls tennis: CdM wins in thriller
LAGUNA BEACH - Corona del Mar High girls tennis team knocked off
host Laguna Beach Tuesday by the slimmest of margins in Pacific Coast
League action.
With the Sea Kings and Artists deadlocked at 9-9, it came down to the
tiebreaker, which CdM won on games played, 80-76.
Leslie Damion won her final match, 7-6, to allow the Sea Kings to
remain unbeaten in the PCL at 6-0, 9-5 overall.
Anne Yelsey won all three of her matches for the Sea Kings, ranked No.
6 in the Orange County Sportswriters Poll, winning, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0.
Next up, CdM travels to Irvine to take on Northwood High Thursday at 3
p.m.
