AYSO Region 120: Storm rains on Gunners

COSTA MESA - The Storm, AYSO Region 120 Under-14 Girls team, had

little trouble against the Gunners, winning, 5-0, over the weekend.

Kari Truesdell scored two goals, with single tallies added by Alyson

Clark, Kayla Shirey and Kimberly Moss.

Assists were turned in by Shirey and Elizabeth Clayton, with other key

offensive contributions from Gemma Western Julianne Doelz, Danica

Christensen and Lisa Evans.

Brittany Rausch, Heidi Schultheis and goalies Sarah Lambert and Jessie

Slater, managed to keep the Gunners off the scoreboard.

In Region 120 Under-12 Boys action:

Team USA 3, Night Hawks 1: Andrew West scored two goals in the first

two minutes of the contest to lead Team USA.

Solid defense was played by Jonathan Howse, Nick Ippolito, Brian

Perez, Zack Waldron, William Briseno and Cody Waldron.

Team USA kept the pressure offensively with help from Christian Medina

and Kyle Worel, while Eric West managed to score the final goal.

For the Night Hawks, their defense was anchored by Kenneth Zich,

Daniel Freeman, Josh Sepeda, Garrett McMasters and Ernesto Castenada.

In Under-10 Girls action: Wildcats 1, Goal’ed Rushers 0: Kristina Roche scored late in the

fourth quarter off back-to-back passes from Lauren Nordstrom and Kelsey

Mock.

Katie Holeman, Kelly Ryan and Brook Urmson helped the Wildcats with

their offense, while Alexis Sellers kept the Rushers’ offense in check

with solid defense.

Shooting Lava 3, WildCats 1: Brook Urmson scored the WildCats’ lone

goal late in the fourth quarter.

Goalies Theresa Pfeifer and Kelly Ryan were kept busy for the

WildCats, stopping a combined eight shots.

Alexis Sellers, Alexa Agullar and Samantha Strodel kept the game close

for the WildCats with their defense.

In Under-10 Boys action:

Red Bombers 3, Bad Boys 0: Trevor McGuff, Adam Seagondollar and Peter

Schreyer scored to lead the Red Bombers to victory.

Goalkeeper Nicholas Vinson and Dontay Lesser started one of the

Bombers’ scoring drives, as well as keeping the Bad Boys off the

scoreboard.

Francisco Moreno, Ranny Martinez, Josh Gonzales, Gregory Vinson and

Anthony Arellano stopped numerous Bad Boys’ offensive threats for the Red

Bombers.

In another victory for the Red Bombers, 4-0, over the Hornets,

Seagondollar had two goals and Schreyer added another for the win.

In Under-8 Boys action:

Rockets 3, Fireballs 1: A.J. Roth had two goals and Matt Viles had one

goal to lead the Rockets.

Strong Rockets defense was performed by Alexander Allione, Ben

Nordstrom, Jonathan Knauer and Preston Schow.

For the Fireballs, Kevin Kiser scored the team’s lone goal, while Leo

Brown, Jack King and Brandon Karr kept the game close with solid team

defense.
