NMJAAF: Junior Pee-Wee Seahawks blank Tri-City, 39-0

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport-Mesa Junior All-American Football

Junior Pee Wee Seahawks recorded their first shutout of the season with a

39-0 win over the Tri-City Steelers.

John Angelo rushed for four touchdowns, while Mike Orozco scored twice

more.

Quarterback Matt Hauser completed 4 of 5 passes to receivers David

Root, Conner Ferguson and Noor Naim.

Other running backs who contributed to the Seahawks’ success were P.J.

Banning, John Gothard and Zack Sepulveda.

The offensive line, led by Ryan Telles, Richie Sorenson, Bryce

Jardine, Brian Lawler, Lou Truxton, Ryan Dupuie, Alex Buffalini and Trent

Sharp, opened numerous holes for the offense, which compiled over 300

yards for the game.

The defense, led by Tony Jones, David Tomkinson, Zack Lavengood, Jack

Turner and Kyle Hayhoe, limited the Tri-City offense to minus-30 yards in

total offense and no first downs.

In other NMJAAF action:

Newport-Mesa Midget Seahawks 39, Mission Viejo Cowboys 6: After

allowing an opening touchdown to the Cowboys, the defensive group of Luis

Gudino, Jeovany Cueva, Brian Wase, Travis Winrow, Cole Edwards, Bo

Burgess, Eric Curris Jr., Crosby Luis Sanchez, Sylvester Langrine, Tim

McCullough, Michael Puentos and Chris Wade, allowed no further points the

entire game.

On offense, Matt Encinias scored four touchdowns, while Brian Campos

and Omar Ruiz each rushed for a touchdown apiece.

On the offensive line, R.J. Martin, Zach Wishengrad, Jonathan McClain

and Sam Matlin allowed the team to score at will for the Seahawks.

Newport-Mesa Clinic-level Seahawks 21, Orange Chiefs 0: Jamie McGee

completed a 20-yard pass play and rushed for a touchdown for the

Seahawks.

P.J. Simpson ground up the yards with solid running up the middle,

behind the blocks of Jeff Lowery, Jonathan Tripi, Jerry Whitney, Griffin

Taylor, Justin Elbourn and Corbin McNutt.

Also adding yardage to the offense was Taylor Sepulveda, Bucko Theriot

and Colby Ammerman.

Newport-Mesa Jr. Clinic Seahawks 7, Westminster Lions 6: The defense,

led by Kyle Chene, Trevor Davis, Drew Littlefair and Hunter Alder held

the Lions to only one touchdown.

Jack Belli had the Seahawks touchdown on a solid run up the middle,

filling in for Antwon Byrd.

Good, all-around play was also turned in by Nick Taormina, Jake

Taylor, Steve Durham and Austin Ford.

South Orange County 28, Newport-Mesa Jr. Midget Seahawks 8: Spencer

Link scored the lone touchdown, with Wes Presson, Tyler Lance, Kasey

Peters, Brian Theriol, Morti Omguze and Daniel Marin-Finn leading the way

on defense for the Seahawks.
