MILLENNIUM MOMENT
The changing face of the West Side is being shaped by the efforts of
Costa Mesa resident Manfredo Lespier, president of the the Latino
Business Council and a leading force in the group Unity Through
Diversity, which holds conferences to discuss local race relations.
A board member of the National Hispanic Bar Association and the Southern
California regional president of the group, Lespier moved to this area in
1976 to play water polo at UC Irvine. He stuck around to raise his
children with his wife, Jean, a graduate of Estancia High School.
* MILLENNIUM MOMENT celebrates the people who have made a major
contribution to the Newport-Mesa community during this century.
