HB Surf Series set to return
The Hurley & Jack’s Pro/Am surf event is back up and running after
last month’s cancellation due to local water pollution.
The two-day competition will run both Saturday and Sunday at
Goldenwest St., and with a swell in the forecast, the waves should
provide another strong contest.
‘Everybody’s anxious to get back into the water,’ Huntington Beach
Pro/Am Surf Series’ Seth Matson said. ‘I’ve been out in the water these
past few days, and it’s a lot cleaner than it has been in quite a while.
In fact, I could see my feet at the bottom, which is a good sign.’
Last month’s cancellation was the first ever for he Huntington
Beach Pro/Am Surf Series, which is California’s only Pro/Am Series and
attracts the top professional and amateurs from around the world.
The top prize for this weekend’s event, the second to last of this
year’s series, is $1,000.
The final Huntington Beach Pro/Am Surf Series event will be held
Nov. 13-14 at the pier.
