Jaguars defense shuts down Irvine

The Fountain Valley Jr. Pee Wee Black Jaguars’ ‘Never out-hit’

defense lived up to its billing once again as it posted another shutout,

this time by a 39-0 score over the Irvine Chargers.

Led by the play of Christian Yerena, Christopher Yerena, Jeff

Hennes, and A.J. Wukawitz, the Jaguars completely shut down the Chargers.

In five games this season - all Jaguar victories - Fountain

Valley’s defense has limited the opposition to a total of three first

downs and has not given up a touchdown.

On the offensive side of the ball, Eric Ceja, Isaiah Romero,

Joshua Perez, and Bryan Schutte scored touchdowns, and David McClelland,

Coby Mason, Travis Koelher, and center Austin Ray provided key blocking.

Fountain Valley racked up 336 yards of total offense.

The Jr. Pee Wee Jaguars, who have now outscored their five

opponents, 188-6, travel to Corona Saturday to face the host Cowboys.

PEE WEE DIVISION

Fountain Valley 22, Huntington Beach 8

Ahmad Abdelmuti, Garrett Leon, and quarterback Jimmy Leeman each

rushed for a touchdown, cornerback Isaiah Wilson had an interception, and

linebacker Chris Le recorded two quarterback sacks to pace the Jaguars

past the rival Dolphins at Ocean View High.

Fountain Valley travels to Dana Hills High Saturday for a 5 p.m.

showdown with the South Orange County Patriots.

JR. CLINIC DIVISION

Fountain Valley 25, Westminster 0

Chad Palsulich opened the scoring with a 56-yard touchdown run,

Danny Dion had rushing touchdowns cover 93 and 37 yards, and Chris

Martinez’s three-yard touchdown pass to Loren Robb capped the scoring and

completed a 300-yard offensive performance by the Jaguars.

The Jaguar defense limited the Lions to just 59 yards of offense

behind the play of Dylon Conley with six tackles, fumble recoveries by

Mike Elmore, Joshua Espadas, and Moses Hershberger, and strong

performances by Robb, Andy Palacios, Zachary Frazier, Scott Baily, and

Nicolas Andong.

JR. PEE WEE DIVISION

Garden Grove 13, Fountain Valley 0

Despite the shutout loss, the Teal Jaguars’ offensive and

defensive lines turned in solid performances, led by the two-sack efforts

of both Ryan Crist and Derek DeMun.

The Teal Jaguars will host the Orange (East) Chiefs Saturday (1

p.m.) at Fountain Valley High.
