Tars bump off Woodbridge
IRVINE - Newport Harbor High’s girls golf team continued its
unbeaten ways Thursday afternoon, this time handling Sea View League
rival Woodbridge on its own turf, the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Club,
taking the hosts by eight strokes to improve to 8-0 overall, 4-0 in
league.
Sophomore Shelly Roberts stepped up and recorded a 42 on the par-36
course off the men’s tees to distinguish herself as medalist, and the key
to the victory.
Harbor’s Kelly Hunt and Channing Lovejoy of Woodbridge were a notch
back with 45s, and Lindsday Galbraith of Harbor closed it out with a
solid 47. Woodbridge falls to 8-2, 3-1.
