Women’s golf: OCC ties Saddleback, again
COSTA MESA - It appears to be a two-school race for supremacy in
the Orange Empire Conference in women’s golf.
Orange Coast and Saddleback colleges shared the top score Monday with
a 346 at the Costa Mesa Country Club.
Coast’s Jennifer Tunzi was OCC’s top golfer, placing third with an 83
at the par-70 course.
The Pirates, once again used their depth for success, as all six
golfers, Tunzi, Jeanna Quaranta (87), Jan Cheng (88), Robin Shaft (88),
Kathy Hille (89) and Gloria Pernesz (91), finished in the top 11 places
in the standings.
OCC leads the Conference with a team-total 48 points, with Saddleback
close behind at 42.
The top scorer of the day went to Saddleback’s Olivia Slutzky, who
turned in an 8-over-par, 78.
