AYSO 97: Tsunami’s blank Bobcats
NEWPORT BEACH - In AYSO Division 5 action, the Tsunamis, led goals
from Kyle Caldwell, Ceasar Amador and Danny Miller, defeated the Bombers,
3-0.
Assists on the goals came from Erik Bonn and Cameron Chase for the
Tsunamis.
Goalies Hayden Navarro and Cameron Holmes kept the Bobcats off the
scoreboard, while sweepers R.J. D’Cruz and Rex Nelson played flawless in
the win.
Fullbacks Eric Holland and Michael Bingham played awesome defense,
while Mitchell Bancroft and Kevin Stivers played well at midfield.
In other Division 5 action:
Bullets 2, SurfRiders 0: Jonathan Mena and Tyler Parker scored the
game’s only goals for the Bullets.
Solid defense was turned in by Luke Sequeira and Dillon Giedt, while
Chasen Murphy, Ryan Ramming, Jason Segura, Justin Whisler, Andrew Marchi,
Patrick Murphy, Kyle Williams, Kevin Etter, Brian Cunningham and Bradley
Branch played a fine all-around game.
In Division 4 action:
Waverunners 2, Hotshots 0: The Waverunners were led by the strong
midfield play of Flavio Cuevas, who intercepted a goal kick and scored a
goal.
Forward Chris Womble scored the second goal for the Waverunners.
P.J. Maurer and Jack Tracy provided solid goalkeeping, while Nick
Frazier, Jonathan Kanzley and Leon Glaser led the Waverunners defense.
In Division 6 action:
The Teenie Wahine took on the Bloopers Saturday with Sadye Busby
leading the offense with a goal on a penalty kick.
Goalies Hannah MacLeod, Lindsay Anderson and Jordan Murrel kept the
Bloopers out of the nets with quality saves.
Ashley Svendsen and Blakely Ficenec controlled the midfield, while
Jessica Swift and Lauren Pfifer shut down the opposition on defense.
Other quality was turned in by Cassie D’Cruz, Skylar Hanson and
Kimberly Ficenec.
In Division 7 action:
In Saturday’s game between the Stingrays and the Jetblasters, a strong
second-half of play was turned in by Daniel Acero, Ryan Burns, James
Jarvis, Riley Lowe, Cole Macias, Blayke Partida and Sean Susman.
In the game between the Geckos and the Charizards, Gecko goals were
delivered by Robbie Retting and Kellon Truxton.
Outstanding defense was played by C.J. Tona and Zach Friedman, while
Skyler Gray, Clay Smyth and Conner Kelly provided solid offense.
