SANTA BARBARA - The Corona del Mar High girls volleyball team split

four matches Saturday at the San Marcos Tournament, the Sea Kings’ final

tuneup for their Pacific Coast League opener Tuesday night against

visiting Laguna Beach.

CdM Coach Steve Conti praised the work of Jamie Brownell, Dimitra

Havriluk, Meghan Gallagher and Marissa Becker.

The Sea Kings lost to Harvard-Westlake, 15-8, 15-13, then finished out

pool play with a 15-10, 16-14 win over Dos Pueblos and a 7-15, 20-18,

17-16 setback to Los Altos.

The Sea Kings won their only consolation match, 15-9, over Sanger.

“We tried a couple things and we may have found something that will work

for us as we get into league,” Conti said.
