Public Safety Day scheduled for SundayT
The event began about 10 years ago with a fire service day, said John
Blauer, community relations officer with the Fire Department. It quickly
grew to include the police and marine departments and other agencies
serving the Newport Beach area.
“It’s a good chance for the public to meet safety service [officers] and
get a chance to ask questions they might not normally have the chance to
do when fire fighters and police are on the scene,” Blauer said.
Tours of the fire and police stations also will be given, and
refreshments will be provided.
