Junior Kahunas

Do you know of an exceptional youth -- a teen who has overcome great

challenges; a girl who volunteers her afternoons helping senior citizens;

a boy who spends his summer building orphanages in Mexico?

If you know somebody remarkable who’s under age 18, we’d like to honor

him or her in the Independent’s Junior Kahunas list, honoring 95 of the

community’s most inspiring kids.

Fax your nomination to 965-7174. The deadline is Friday, Oct. 8. Be sure

to include the following information:

* Child’s name, age, school and/or church.

* Projects, activities or community service in which the child is

involved.

* What about this youngster’s character sets him or her apart from others

* What challenges he or she has overcome

* Why you think this youth should be included in the Independent’s Junior

Kahunas list

* Parent’s name and phone number.

To be considered, the child must live in Huntington Beach or Fountain

Valley. Entries not containing all of the above information cannot be

considered. Only one nomination per family.
