Tsunami’s hold on, 4-3
Action in AYSO 57 was fast and furious last week in every
direction, and a good example was the Tsunami’s 4-3 victory over the
Patriots in a game which found the lead changing hands several times.
The outcome was determined with less than a minute to play on a
penalty kick.
Paul Knezevic scored twice, including the winning goal, and Taylor
Martin and Ajay Sahni each scored for the Tsunami’s in the boys under-12
contest.
Scoring for the Patriots were Ben Witte, Chris Horton and Julian
Marisco.
Defensive play from both teams made it one of the better games of the
season.
Standouts in the field for the Patriots were Scott Burnham and Kevin
Maghami, while Dane Oatman and Joey Blackwell stood out in the Tsunami’s
defense.

Girls under-12 (Division 4)
Bruisers 3, Poison Ivy 2: Scoring for the Bruisers werfe Emily Foster,
Tori Bender and Casey McMackin. The bruising defense of the winners was
led by Kelly Bartlett, Amanda Billing and Michelle Allred. Allyson Page
made the big defensive play of the day.
Galaxy Girls 4, Bazooka Babes 0: With goals from Ashley Carnahan,
Rachel Haber, Taylor Beauchamp and Kelly Nelson, and a defense boasting
the play of Jae Morosiln, Amanda Knuppel, Kelly McElroy, Caroline Claure,
Katie Wade and Caitlyn Czisny, it was all Galaxy.
Cherry Bombs 1, Bubble Trouble 0: Bubble Trouble was led by excellent
goaltending from Katie Schulte and Ashley Chandler.
USA Babes 4, Y2K Girls 0: Marisa Scott and A. McCarthy each scored
twice, and Babes goalie Christine Burke was outstanding. The Babes’
defense was led by Erika Palmaer, Clara Lopes, Sanya Wadhwa, Caroline
Pearson and Megan Spindler.
