1. HEARING ABOUT THE FUTURE

The second annual Distinguished Panel Discussion Series will get

underway at 7 p.m. today with “A Tale of Three Cities: What’s Happening

in Orange County Cities That Will Make an Impact in the New Millennium?”

2. BUSINESS BEFORE PLEASURE

The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce will hold its 1999 business expo

from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Orange County Market

Place at the Orange County Fairgrounds. The expo will feature 40 chamber

member exhibitors showcasing a variety of products and services. Cost to

3. RACING TO CURE BREAST CANCER

The 8th annual Orange County Race for the Cure, hosted by the Susan G.

Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday

at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. This is the nation’s biggest annual

series of races with proceeds dedicated solely to raising money for

breast cancer. A race T-shirt is included in the entry fees -- $25 for

adults and $15 for breast cancer survivors and youths 17 and younger. For
