Women’s golf: OCC wins second-straight OEC match
LOS ALAMITOS - Once again, consistency was the key to success for
Orange Coast College’s women’s golf team in Wednesday’s Orange Empire
Conference victory played at Los Alamitos Navy Course, par 72.
“We’re playing pretty steady right now,” Coach Gordie Fitzel said.
“We’re starting to get all of our players to put up some pretty decent
numbers out there.”
OCC’s Jennifer Tunzi, along with Saddleback’s Karlie Ward, shot the
lowest round in the competition with a 10-over-par, 82.
In a grouping similar to OCC first OEC win, all six of OCC’s players
finished in the top 12 of the match.
“Our No. 6 player could easily be a No. 1 player for some of these
schools,” Fitzel said.
The next OEC match takes place Monday at Oak Creek Golf Club in
Irvine, with the first tee time scheduled for 9 a.m. ORANGE EMPIRE
