Little Dawgs top dog in Campbell Division
Ariel Rassler knocked in the game-winning goal at the 3:31 mark of
overtime Saturday to lift the Little Dawgs to a 4-3 victory over the
Flury in the Campbell Division postseason championship match as Summer
League play came to an end at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in
Huntington Beach.
It was the third goal of the match for Rassler, who scored in the
second quarter to bring the Little Dawgs within 2-1. Both she and Joey
Mahoney scored in the third period, as the two teams ended regulation
play knotted at 3-3.
Both Jared Rassler and Rebecca Koppel had an assist for the Little
Dawgs, and goalie Mark Kosko recorded 19 saves.
The Flury’s Bennett Allen topped all scorers as he scored all
three of his team’s goals.
Allen scored in each of the three regulation quarters, the second
of his three goals coming off a Dean Neugebauer assist.
Bryan Costa had 15 saves in the net for the Flury.

PATRICK DIVISION
Rangers 4, Cheapshots 3
Heycier Foutris scored twice and single goals went to both Matt
Clinton and Joshua Hackworth as the Rangers wrapped up the division
title. Both Foutris and Clinton also collected an assist for the winners.
Shaun Lamirand scored the first two goals for the Cheapshots, who
also received a single goal from Colin Crenshaw and assists from both
Andrew Tran and Chaz Grant.
SMYTHE DIVISION
Puckhogs 4, Blastoids 3
Jason Gonzell, David Finney, and Stephanie Martin all scored,
Myles Jeffrey picked up an assist, and goalie Derek Takeshita recorded 18
saves as the Puckhogs survived in overtime to claim the Smythe
championship.
Chas Plimpton scored the first two goals and Jeffrey Kurokawa
added a goal in overtime for the Blastoids, who also received an assist
from Garrett Ono and 21 saves by goalie Jamie Dyke.
HOWE DIVISION
Huntington Storm 7, Crunch 2
Jonathan Shramek scored a pair of unassisted goals, Kenneth
Sabraw, Danny Gandasetiawan, Kyle Sabraw, Shane Lakes, and Tyler Post
each had a single goal, both Post and Kyle Sabraw each had an assist, and
goalie Chad Ramsey stopped 15 shots to power the Huntington Storm to the
division championship.
Both Justin Hernandez and Evan Phelan scored and both Travis Geery
and Dylan Lamphear handed out assists to pace the Crunch.
WALES DIVISION
Hot Shots 5, Thrashers 3
Matthew Chan scored twice, Andrew Lynn, Andrew Whiting, and Weston
Bales each scored once, and assists went out to Scott Taucher, Brooks
Zimmer, and Drew Woods as the Hot Shots took the first-place trophy.
Kyle Thoms scored twice, Andy Holmes scored once, and both Traves
Smith and Derek Huffman each had an assist to lead the Thrashers.
