Army Pvt. Janina A. Hardoy has entered basic military training at Fort

Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

For eight weeks, the soldier will receive instruction in drill and

ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, Army history and traditions

and special training in human relations.

Hardoy is the daughter of Katherine J. Hardoy of Costa Mesa and

granddaughter of Annie Hardoy of Redwood City.

She graduated from Woodside High School in Redwood City in 1999.

Army Pvt. Daniel R. Gonzalez, son of Rosa And Teodulo Gonzalez of

Costa Mesa, arrived at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga., to complete basic

military training.

During the training, the soldier will receive instruction in drill,

ceremonies, map reading, tactics, military customs and courtesies,

physical fitness and first aid.
