NEWPORT BEACH -- Commuters driving on Jamboree Road between San

Joaquin Hills Road and Pacific Coast Highway could face up to 40-minute

delays over the next two weeks due to road resurfacing.

The city cannot repave the street at night because it will disturb

residents, said Public Works Director Don Webb. Therefore, crews are

working from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Those planning to attend the Taste of Newport this weekend don’t need

to worry about the traffic delays, Webb said. The event begins after the

road work ends.

Webb has promised that when the rood work is done, Jamboree “will

almost be better than new.”
