CdM falls in four
SANTA ANA - The Corona del Mar High girls volleyball team, ranked
No. 9 in Orange County, fell to No. 10-ranked Calvary Chapel, 15-8,
12-15, 15-7, 15-9, Tuesday at the Eagles gym.
Senior Jamie Brownell led CdM (1-1) with 14 kills and seven digs and was
the Sea Kings’ only consistent standout, according to Coach Steve Conti.
“I was a little disappointed with the lack of consistency and emotion we
brought to the match,” Conti said. “It’s early for us and we have some
things to work on.”
The Sea Kings, ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division III-AA,
return to action Friday in the Dave Mohs Memorial Tournament, formerly
known as the Orange County Championships.
