It’s my belief that the contamination in the ocean in Huntington Beach is

coming from the construction being done at the corner of PCH and Beach

Blvd by the Waterfront Hilton. That parcel, along with several others

along PCH, sits lower than the highway and is below sea level. That’s the

reason why there are so many mobile home parks in this area. It’s hard to

dig a deep foundation when you hit water. Where are all the sewer lines

that serviced the mobile home park that sat on that parcel for over 30

years, and what happened to them? Sewage leaking from pipes broken and

damaged by the earth movers that have been digging deep and rumbling over

the site would leach out into the ocean. If this is the case, the

contamination could be with us for a long time.
