Pipeline in line for division title

The Pipeline extended their lead over their five Squirt Club

Division foes Wednesday by moving a step closer to securing the division

championship following a 10-7 victory over the Space Monkeys at Coast 2

Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Pipeline’s leading scorer, Tim Kraus, paved the way with a

match-tying four goals and also had a hand in three others as he handed

out three assists.

Kraus’ scoring output gives him 21 goals on the season, and he

also leads his club with 15 assists.

The victory was the fourth consecutive for Pipeline, which

improved to 8-2 overall.

Also contributing in the scoring column for the victors was Macsun

Frederick with two goals and three assists, David Distel with a pair of

goals and a pair of assists, Andy Holmes with a single goal, and Brian

McShane with an assist.

The Space Monkey’s Stephen Sandberg, his team’s leading scorer

with 16 goals, matched Kraus in the scoring department with four goals.

Cameron Cepek scored twice with an assist, Sean Hoang scored once,

Bradley Ellis picked up two assists, and Tyler Stokes added another

assist for the Space Monkeys, who had a two-game win streak snapped in

falling to 3-4-3 overall.

Roadrunners 7, Elmos 5

Goalie Michael Urbano turned away 32 shot attempts, Brad Malone

scored twice with two assists, both Chaz Grant and Chris Sorem each

scored once with an assist, both Colby Kasubuchi and Michael Melia each

scored once, and both Ryan Pelliccioni and Matthew Smith each added

assists for the second-place Roadrunners, now 5-2-3 overall.

Jonathan Gibo scored three goals to pace the Elmos (4-6), who also

received two goals and a pair of assists from Chad Romers.

Prowlers 6, Fonzarellis 3

Both Patrick Killeen and Richard Leitner scored single goals and

Colin Crenshaw handed out two assists for the Prowlers, who evened their

record at 4-4-2.

A.J. Kawamura scored twice; Andrew Watt scored once with an

assist, and both Danny Cano and Adam Stanford each assisted goals to lead

the Fonzarellis (1-7-2).
