Carolyn Elliotte Van Schoick

Carolyn Elliotte Van Schoick, 74, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, CA surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was born January 10, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA to John and Cloris (Angel) Elliotte. She graduated from Marlborough School, attended the University of California at Berkley and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She married George S. Van Schoick of Ottawa, IL on April 4, 1959.

Carolyn spent more than 25 years in radio broadcasting including stations in Ottawa, Chicago, San Diego and Newport Beach. She was a gifted singer, dancer and actor who performed extensively in community and dinner theaters. Carolyn volunteered with the Hoag Hospital Auxiliary in several different areas. She loved to quilt, and many friends and relatives were the beneficiaries of her skill and generosity.

She will best be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many others. She was a happy person with a good sense of humor and a bubbly personality that brightened almost any situation.

She is survived by her husband, George Van Schoick of Newport Beach, a son Scott Van Schoick (Kristin) of Portland, OR, a daughter, Caroline Van Schoick of Bend, OR, grandchildren George and Ella Van Schoick of Portland, OR, a sister Valerie Lukosky (Gilbert) of Newport Beach, a nephew, Gregory Lukosky (Suzanne) of Newport Beach and a niece, Christina Porter (Ryan). She was preceded in death by a daughter Valerie R. Van Schoick.
