Thomas Emil Famiglietti<br/>September 15, 1924 - April 20, 2015
Thomas Emil Famiglietti, 90, of Burbank CA died Monday, April 20, 2015. Tom, son of the late Emilio and Josephine Famiglietti was born Sep 15, 1924, in Irvington, NJ. A World War II Veteran, Army Private First-Class Famiglietti served as a Military Policeman in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged in 1946.
In 1950, “Uncle Sonny” moved to Burbank CA with his parents and late sisters Frances, “Dolly,” and Marie. After more than 40 years working for Menasco, he retired as a Quality Control Supervisor in 1991. In 1964, Tom married Alice Faye Paul, each bringing two lovely daughters into their mixed family and soon adding a fifth.
Tom was a long-standing member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and an active member and Treasurer for the Burbank Recreation Club and member of the Burbank Elks Lodge.
Tom deeply loved boating and fishing and enjoyed taking friends and many generations of Famigliettis out with him whenever possible. Over the years, Tom enjoyed family trips to Idaho and Hawaii, Cruises to Alaska, Tahiti, and the Italian Riviera, and one special trip to Italy to visit his parents’ hometowns. Most of all, Tom loved being at home surrounded by family for Sunday dinners.
Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years Alice, and five daughters: Karen Dattilo, Tami Bradley, Josephine Coderko, Lori Patterson, and Frances Martin. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one in heaven and two on the way.
